About Pennies for Posho
Pennies for Posho is a humanitarian and missions organization and the missions arm of Skipstone Adventures, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Pennies is committed to feeding the hungry children of Africa and to share the gospel and help disciple them. Our driving verse is James 1:27 "Take care of orphans.. in their distress."
In 2006 Dr. Ted Moody traveled to Uganda to visit the Royal Jr. School and Orphanage. During that time he was pastor of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church of Griffin, GA, which supported the Royal School and Orphanage. It was during this trip that a Ugandan pastor bought Dr. Moody lunch and asked if he could help feed his orphanage as well, because his children were hungry. That moment changed Dr. Moody's life. In 2007 Dr. Moody began asking churches to give their Vacation Bible School offerings to help feed the children of Uganda. The ministry has grown and Pennies now supports ten different orphanages including over 5,000 children.
