GREAT NEWS!!

THERE IS WATER ON THE MOUNTAIN!! On April 19, the drilling company struck water on the mountain at Royal School & Orphanage at 150 meters. We are praying that this will be the water source that is so greatly needed at Royal School. We had been told that water could not be found on the mountain. Never underestimate what our God can do!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARAH!

Filed under: Uncategorized — penniesnews @ 3:35 pm

Happy Birthday Sarah! Our sweet Sarah turns 10 years old! I’ve thought a lot about Sarah today. This will be her first birthday cake. Tonight she will receive her first birthday gift – ever. Sarah is the exception; for many Ugandans live their entire lives never knowing their very own birthday. The children sing a song entitled, “He Knows My Name” and I cry each time because I am overwhelmed to think that the God of the Universe knows my name and my birthday. He formed me in my mother’s womb and before even time began he had a plan for my life and for Sarah’s! He cares so much for us that He’s given the ultimate gift of life in His Son, Jesus Christ. Happy Birthday Sarah and thank you for sharing your talent so that others may come to know the ultimate gift of our Father! ~ Meredith

First week, first concert – GREAT!

Filed under: Uncategorized — penniesnews @ 10:10 pm

The kids first week went incredibly well.  The kids have been adjusting well to the newness of America and even to the cold, though its still a shock to them.  Parents and friends of Skipstone were an incredible blessing to the children, taking them shopping and buying them the clothing and winterwear they needed (they came mostly with the clothes on their back).

The children spent most of the week practicing and getting use to the structure and the daily life they will have here in America. They were able to try new foods and were able to visit the Skipstone school library, among other things. We shot a DVD of the children on Wednesday and plan to have it available at our concerts soon.

Their first concert was this past Sunday, June 9th, at Union Baptist Church, Griffin, GA.  Even with the impending snow storm, there was a very large crowd present to hear the premier concert with these children.  The children were great, the audience was warm, and the concert went well.

The kids are loving their new “home”.  We would like to send a special shoutout to Towaliga Baptist Church, among many others, who donated so many items to help make the house what it is today, and continue to bless us and these children. Thank you so much for all you do and have done.
